These are all the 2048 themes, variants and variations on 2048HQ. The themed versions keep the original rules and swap the numbers for pictures or letters; the board variants change the size of the grid or the rules themselves. Every version saves its own game and best score.
Themes: same rules, new tiles
2048 Cupcakes, Christmas Cupcakes 2048, Cat 2048, 2048 with Dogs and 2048 Fruit each have eleven tiles drawn for this site, while Alphabet 2048 uses letters from A to K. They play exactly like the classic game, which makes them a friendly way in for anyone who finds a board of numbers dry.
Different versions of the board
2048 5x5 and 6×6 give you more room, big 2048 goes up to 16×16, 2048 3x3 shrinks the board until even 256 is a challenge, and Hex 2048 trades the square for a hexagon with six directions.
New rules
Fibonacci 2048 merges neighbours in the Fibonacci sequence, Reverse 2048 halves tiles on the way down to 1, and 2048 Hacked removes the limits altogether with undo and a tile editor. Custom 2048 lets you put your own words or photos on the tiles, and Excel 2048 disguises the board as a spreadsheet.
